There’s nothing I love more than Turtle Cheesecake, especially when there’s more than one that I can pop into my mouth! The recipe, courteously of Lauren’s Latest, was simple and quick that followed with great results! These would definitely gone within seconds at any sort of gathering! Is that a Peanut Butter Cheesecake with a Dorito crust? Yes. It is. Unfortunately, it was the last bit I ate before I ended up contracting the stomach bug the next morning and spent my evening in the hospital. So posting this picture was difficult for my stomach to bare. And to be honest, there was too muh cheesecake for crust, which turned out (despite my combination of Dorito and graham crust in hopes that it would dilute the cheese flavor) like a baked chesey tortilla. Not mouth pleasing. ON A MORE HAPPY AND LESS DISGUSTING NOTE, I’m really digging my execution of such a bold flavor combo. Yes tweaks needed to be made, desperately, but it’s not impossible, and that’s the spirit that can take any baker to new heights! Don’t be afraid to try out wild ideas, and don’t slam the door on them when they show up at your mouth in the most ill fitting flavor it’s been through since mom’s mystery meatloaf.
Do you see what I see? Oh yes, I bet you do. And for those who cannot truly see whats before their eyes, let me assist your eyes. These jewels before your eyes aren’t just ordinary Vanilla Cupcakes with cute-sy sprinkles, though I do love such simplicity. These are Birthday Cake Oreo Cupcakes with pure Vanilla Buttercream. Yes. And it’s the pure Buttercream that makes the cupcake! Pure Buttercreams take a bit more effort than throwing in butter and cup after cup of powdered sugar, you may know this type of icing/frosting as American, and there are both simple and advanced ways that provide your mouth with significantly improved flavors and textures! Trust me on this, pure Buttercreams compared to American Frostings are so much smoother, they melt in your mouth! Unfortunately, some may be put off by the amount of butter that goes into each batch, but think about how much you’re actually consuming as well as the amount of sugar that goes into an American Frosting compared to a pure Buttercream, most likely 4-5x the amount. With a Birthday Cake Oreo crust, which by themselves are ADDICTING, a pure Buttercream, and a classic Vanilla batter, these babies blow those simplistic cakes outta the water!
